About ICP6

The 6th International Conference on Phthiraptera will showcase the latest research on parasitic lice and louse-borne pathogens and endosymbionts. All aspects of theory, principles, methodology, and practice will be addressed.

Most speakers and posters will be invited from submitted abstracts. Abstracts of accepted presentations will be printed in the proceedings.  We invite contributions in any area of research on lice, including the following topics:

  • Epidemiology
  • Epidemiology of human lice
  • Systematic population genetics and evolution
  • Ecology and epidemiology of non-human lice
  • Medical and veterinary aspects of louse infestations
  • Techniques for studying lice
  • Phthirapterists and phthirapterology
  • Prophylaxis and control of lice
  • Microorganisms associated with lice

In the conference, 150-200 attendees are expected from countries around the world and include scientists working on various aspects of the biology and control of animal, bird and human lice. The group ranges from Ph.D. researchers working on new control methods to M.D.s, nurses and professional „nitpickers“. Among the attendees will be researchers studying one or more of the topics listed above.

BEST WESTERN PREMIER Hotel International Brno is a luxury four-star hotel situated under  Špilberk Castle. Other transport

Brno is located on the main Czech highway D1 and D2. For highways and some bigger roads it is necessary to have a highway sticker, which is for sale at the border crossing, petrol stations, post offices and in the motor clubs.

Selection Criteria

Participants will be selected on the basis of the abstract submission. All selected participants will give their presentation in the form of posters. Participants can choose oral or poster presentation in the registration. After the selection they will be contacted which type of presentation will be required.

Oral presentation is planned for 10 minutes + 5 minutes questions.

Poster guidelines

Please bring one printed copy of your poster A0, portrait format.
Posters should have a border of a few centimetres to allow the frame.

Information:

  • Number of your poster is in a Book of abstract. The list will be also available at the registration desk.
  • Poster number will be displayed on poster board in advance. There is no possibility to change the number or position of any board or number.
  • Pins, adhesive gum, etc. will be available on the spot.
  • The participant is responsible for making sure that the poster fits on the display board

Posters presentation: 

All posters will be displayed during Sunday and Monday. Poster presentation will be during the official poster session Monday 16:30 – 18:00

 Re-collection of posters:

  •  Exact time will be announced during the conference
  • Uncollected posters will be available at registration desk.
